EHS & Sustainability Specialist

Location: Ewing, New Jersey, USA; hybrid with in-person attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and remote work options on Mondays and Fridays. Travel up to 25% is required, including domestic and occasional international travel, with flexibility to support a 24/7 operating environment.

Salary: $71,000–$101,000 base salary per year, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Develop and execute site environmental, health, safety, and sustainability initiatives for the Ewing location.
• Coordinate corporate performance metrics and support consistent program execution across manufacturing sites.
• Participate in incident investigations, root-cause analysis, audits, inspections, and corrective-action tracking.
• Deliver training, coaching, and technical guidance on hazard recognition, Permit to Work, machine safety, compliance, and related programs.
• Analyze safety and performance data, recommend improvements, and support continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Manage safety vendors, environmental services, specialized systems, purchase orders, and accounts payable processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, safety, industrial hygiene, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience coordinating safety, health, or environmental activities in a manufacturing environment, including industrial hygiene.
• Knowledge of chemical management, confined space, radiation, lasers, hearing conservation, Permit to Work, machine safety, lockout/tagout, work at heights, PPE, stormwater, wastewater, spill response, and hazardous waste.
• Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, training, presentation, analytical, and technical-writing skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to travel up to 25%.
• Ability to work from the Ewing, New Jersey office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Nice to have

• Five or more years of relevant manufacturing environmental, health, safety, or industrial hygiene experience.
• Experience with Sphera, Velocity, ISN, or similar EHS systems.
• Professional certification such as Certified Industrial Hygienist, Associate Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or Certified Safety Professional.
