Assistant Financial Analyst (FTC-12 months) Corporate and Consumer

Location: Hybrid, with 2 days per week at the Livingston, Scotland office; candidates must have the right to work in the UK.

What you will do

• Perform period-end close activities and support accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Own defined P&L and Balance Sheet areas, investigating transactions and financial movements.
• Prepare and review journal entries and complete Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Provide variance commentary and act as a point of contact for assigned accounting areas.
• Support internal and external audits, financial controls, outsourced partners, and process documentation.
• Contribute to automation, process simplification, reporting standardization, and finance transformation projects.

Requirements

• Recent experience supporting month-end close in a General Ledger or accounting environment.
• Good understanding of double-entry accounting, P&L, and Balance Sheet accounting.
• Ability to own an end-to-end accounting area with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience improving or automating processes and strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Appropriate right to work in the UK is required; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Nice to have

• SAP experience.
• Studying towards ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, or another professional accountancy qualification.
