Financial Controller (AI)

Location: Remote within the UK or France, with a few office days per month in London or Paris. Candidates located outside the UK or France cannot be considered.

What you will do

• Own and develop a robust, reliable, audit-ready financial operation across the UK and French entities.
• Lead the monthly close and deliver accurate management accounts, investor reporting, and internal controls.
• Manage treasury activities, statutory accounts, audits, VAT, taxes, and company secretarial duties across the UK and France.
• Identify opportunities to automate and simplify revenue, billing, deferred revenue, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes using scalable AI-enabled tools.
• Support ESOP administration and work with the CFO and FP&A team on planning and decision-making.
• Manage, support, and develop one direct report.

Requirements

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification with experience as a Financial Controller, finance operations leader, or in a similar role.
• Experience reporting under UK GAAP FRS 102 or IFRS.
• Experience in a B2B SaaS, software, technology, or subscription-based business, preferably in a high-growth VC- or PE-backed company.
• Experience working across multiple legal entities, including consolidations, audits, tax advisors, and complex compliance matters.
• Understanding of AI implementation for improving financial operations.
• Strong accuracy, independent problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and collaborative skills.

Nice to have

• French language skills and knowledge of French administrative compliance and procedures.
• Experience with Stripe and HubSpot.
