Senior Financial Control Analyst (6-month FTC) (Financial Control): Delivering accurate payroll, month-end, balance sheet, fixed-asset and capital-expenditure accounting across multiple legal entities with an accent on reconciliations, financial reporting and audit-ready control evidence. Focus on investigating variances, applying accounting policies, managing project-cost capitalization and resolving material or unsupported balance-sheet items.
Location: Leeds, United Kingdom; hybrid, with in-person attendance at an assigned office for a minimum of two days per week

What you will do
- Prepare and post monthly payroll journals across legal entities and cost centres, reconcile payroll and employee-related balance sheet accounts, and resolve variances.
- Produce payroll, headcount and employee-cost reporting, including actual-to-forecast analysis and accruals for bonuses, long-term incentives and employer National Insurance.
- Deliver month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, recharges and intercompany reconciliations with complete supporting documentation.
- Review income statement and balance sheet movements, investigate accounting issues and provide clear commentary to process owners.
- Prepare and certify balance sheet reconciliations in BlackLine while resolving or escalating aged, material or unsupported items.
- Manage project costing, capitalisation, fixed-asset reconciliations, capital expenditure returns, impairment reviews, VAT adjustments and selected tax-reporting activities.
Requirements
- Part-qualified or qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or equivalent practical accounting experience.
- Strong experience in month-end accounting, payroll accounting, balance sheet control, fixed assets or capital expenditure.
- Experience preparing robust reconciliations, investigating accounting issues and maintaining audit-ready evidence.
- Working knowledge of financial-control principles and accounting policies, with the ability to escalate judgemental, material or unsupported items.
- Strong Microsoft Excel, analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in the hybrid Leeds arrangement with regular attendance at the assigned office.
Nice to have
- Experience using BlackLine and PeopleSoft.
- Experience in a multinational or multi-entity financial environment.
- Knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, tax, audit or statutory reporting.
- Experience accounting for internally developed software or managing project-based capitalisation.
- Experience identifying opportunities to strengthen financial processes and controls.
