Software Engineer I (AI Analytics)

Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid

Salary: $138,000–$207,000 total target cash annually for work in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, inclusive of bonus or commission.

What you will do

• Build backend features and APIs for exploring AI agent sessions, traces, and evaluation results.
• Contribute to data pipelines that ingest, enrich, synchronize, and export agent data.
• Investigate slow queries and pipeline issues to improve data freshness, throughput, and product responsiveness.
• Write maintainable code and automated tests, participate in code reviews, and use logs and metrics to debug services.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design to deliver improvements from implementation through rollout.

Requirements

• B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience, including internships.
• Programming experience with TypeScript, Python, Java, or a similar language.
• Solid foundation in programming fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
• Curiosity about AI agents and willingness to learn backend systems, data pipelines, and analytical databases.

Nice to have

• Exposure to SQL, backend APIs, cloud infrastructure, or data pipelines.
• Projects involving AI agents, LLM applications, tracing, or evaluations.
