Systems Engineer (IT Infrastructure)

Location: Lansing, Michigan, United States. After initial in-person training, the role may allow working from home up to 3 days per week.

What you will do

• Install, configure, and support computer server hardware and software using industry best practices.
• Provide training and technical support for server environments in a team setting.
• Monitor server performance, identify hardware issues, and deploy appropriate fixes.
• Resolve server software application questions, document incidents, and communicate solutions.
• Research and develop solutions involving server hardware and software.

Requirements

• Experience with server installation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of Windows Server, Exchange, SharePoint, Active Directory, web servers, and Microsoft System Center products.
• Knowledge of scripting for automation, server virtualization, Linux operating systems, and container administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a similar field is preferred; several years of relevant experience may substitute.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship is required. Occasional work outside normal business hours is expected.
