Associate Legal Counsel (Data Privacy)

Location: St Helier, Jersey; full-time hybrid

What you will do

• Own day-to-day data privacy matters across the international business.
• Develop and strengthen privacy frameworks, including ROPA, international data transfers, controller/processor relationships, and Data Processing Agreements.
• Partner with Product, Technology, Marketing, Commercial, and People teams to embed privacy into new initiatives and product support.
• Translate complex privacy requirements into clear, practical, commercially focused advice.
• Support commercial agreements, employment matters, and other Legal projects.
• Improve privacy processes, guidance, and ways of working as the business grows.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales or equivalent, with approximately 1–3 years PQE.
• Practical data privacy or data protection experience, including ROPA, international data transfers, controller/processor relationships, and Data Processing Agreements.
• Strong commercial judgement and communication skills, with the ability to advise non-legal stakeholders clearly.
• Proactive and curious approach, with the ability to take ownership, research unfamiliar issues, and seek support when needed.
• Experience in technology, digital, SaaS, gaming, or another data-rich international business is advantageous but not essential.

• 30-minute office coffee chat, followed by a 60-minute values interview via Zoom.
