Data Privacy Manager (Fintech)

What you will do

• Act as the central point of contact for data privacy questions across the Group.
• Develop and maintain the privacy governance framework, including DPIAs, privacy by design, retention, RoPA, DSARs, and third-party diligence.
• Manage lawful cross-border data transfers across UK, EU, and international entities using appropriate contractual and adequacy mechanisms.
• Manage breach notifications, DPIA consultations, regulatory engagement, and privacy reporting to senior leadership and the Board.
• Advise Product, Technology, HR, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Procurement stakeholders on privacy requirements and data risk.
• Deliver privacy training and help build the centralised privacy function as it grows.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a dedicated data privacy role within a regulated environment.
• Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR and EU GDPR, with practical experience running DPIA, RoPA, and DSAR processes end to end.
• Experience working in a multi-jurisdictional group structure, such as the UK, EU, or APAC.
• Experience designing and embedding privacy policies, procedures, governance documentation, and escalation routes.
• Ability to act as the primary point of contact for regulators, Audit, and Risk stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills for translating legal and regulatory requirements into practical business guidance.

Nice to have

• Experience in UK financial services or a similarly regulated industry.
• Exposure to AI/ML-related privacy considerations, including automated decision-making and Article 22.
• Professional data protection or privacy certification, such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or BCS Certificate in Data Protection.
