Senior Full Stack Java Engineer - Workforce Management (WFM)

Location: United States; remote work is offered through a work-from-anywhere culture.

What you will do

• Design and implement workforce planning, forecasting, scheduling, optimization, adherence, exception management, and operational reporting capabilities.
• Build Java and Spring Boot microservices, REST APIs, OpenAPI contracts, and event-driven workflows.
• Develop accessible workforce applications with React and TypeScript, using Node.js for integrations and supporting components where appropriate.
• Integrate workforce management capabilities with CX, ACD, routing, HR, payroll, identity, CRM, and enterprise data platforms.
• Model operational data in PostgreSQL and optimize batch processing, concurrency, scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Contribute to containerized cloud deployments, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, architecture discussions, and collaboration with Product, QA, DevOps, UX, and Operations Research.

Requirements

• 8+ years of full-stack software development experience with ownership of production applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST services, security, persistence, microservices, and event-driven systems.
• Frontend development experience with React or Angular, TypeScript, component-based design, state management, and modern testing practices.
• Strong understanding of workforce management concepts, scheduling algorithms, optimization logic, and complex business rules.
• Experience with SQL, PostgreSQL or comparable relational databases, cloud-based and containerized applications, and enterprise integrations.
• Excellent communication skills, technical documentation abilities, and experience leading client-facing workshops.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS services and Amazon Connect.
• Knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, observability tooling, and secure software delivery.
• Exposure to forecasting models, simulation, optimization algorithms, machine learning, AI-assisted development, or AI-enabled solutions.
• Experience with real-time operational data processing, workforce analytics, and operational research.
