IT Operations Delivery Lead (Aerospace and Defence)

Location: Hampshire Area, United Kingdom; onsite 5 days per week. The role requires eligibility for applicable UK Government and contractual personnel security and residency requirements, plus the right to work in the United Kingdom. Nationality requirements may apply for security obligations.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end service delivery for critical defence and aerospace programmes, ensuring contractual SLA, availability, response-time, security, and service-quality commitments are met.
• Manage day-to-day operations across Wintel, Linux, virtualisation, database administration, storage, backup, monitoring, and tooling functions.
• Own operational P&L, forecasting, cost control, resource planning, capacity, and delivery performance against contracted obligations.
• Act as the senior escalation point for major incidents and complex technical issues, while overseeing Change, Incident, Problem, and Configuration Management.
• Manage customer and stakeholder relationships, service reviews, escalations, performance reporting, risk assessments, and improvement roadmaps.
• Lead, coach, and develop a multi-disciplinary engineering team, including recruitment, performance management, succession planning, on-call coverage, and knowledge transfer.

Requirements

• Eligibility for UK Government and contractual personnel security and applicable residency requirements is required.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom is required; nationality requirements may apply.
• Leadership experience in service delivery, operations management, programme management, or managed infrastructure services.
• Experience delivering SLA-driven services under complex defence, aerospace, government, or other regulated contracts.
• Broad knowledge of Wintel, Linux, virtualisation, database administration, storage, backup, monitoring, enterprise infrastructure, cloud services, and application support.
• ITIL or ITSM knowledge, strong stakeholder communication, financial management, security awareness, and experience leading diverse technical teams.
