Software Development Engineer Intern (Cybersecurity)

Location: San Jose, California, United States. Onsite work is required for the duration of the 12-week summer internship; participation in hirify.global's hybrid work environment is possible, but fully remote work is not available. Candidates outside the San Jose area are expected to relocate.

Hourly pay: USD 42–55.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and test code for real-world software projects.
• Analyze requirements, test features, and integrate components into applications.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to develop scalable, data-driven solutions.
• Participate in design and code reviews and apply software engineering best practices.
• Prepare technical documentation for designs and new features.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree at an accredited U.S. college or university in computer science, software engineering, information technology, computer engineering, or a related field.
• Expected graduation between December 2027 and June 2029, with at least two academic quarters or semesters remaining after the internship.
• Ability to work onsite in San Jose for a 12-week summer internship beginning May 24, June 1, or June 21, 2027.
• No more than two years of full-time professional technology industry experience in a similar role.
• Programming experience in an object-oriented language such as Python, Go, Java, C#, or C.
• Knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms.

Nice to have

• Experience with Linux and shell scripting.
• Experience with CI/CD automation, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with AI/ML research or applications.
