Staff Software Engineer (AI SW Integration - Prisma AIRS)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; most teams work from the office full time. Travel may be required.

Salary: $104,000–$169,500 per year, with possible restricted stock units and bonus.

What you will do

• Build and maintain high-performance asynchronous REST and gRPC microservices, background workers, and database schemas in Python.
• Develop API endpoints, webhook receivers, and ingestion hooks for LLM prompts, context payloads, and agent execution logs.
• Integrate model providers and agentic frameworks including LangChain, LlamaIndex, and MCP with AI gateways, inline security controls, policy enforcement, and fallback routing.
• Create architecture diagrams and integration blueprints for Prisma AIRS across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Build automated LLM red-teaming pipelines for jailbreak and prompt-injection testing, and expose telemetry APIs for dashboards and SIEM tools.
• Review partner architectures and provide documentation or SDKs to accelerate integrations.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of software engineering or systems integration experience focused on backend development and cloud security.
• Production-level Python experience with asynchronous services, FastAPI, Flask, gRPC, and microservice architectures.
• Experience developing and integrating REST, gRPC, and WebSockets APIs, API gateways, data transformation, middleware, webhooks, retry logic, and high-volume synchronization.
• Practical experience integrating LLM APIs, vector storage, and agentic protocols or frameworks through backend middleware.
• Ability to create technical architecture blueprints and secure AI workloads against prompt injection and model vulnerabilities.
• Experience with PyTest or unittest, distributed-system evaluation, and a BS/MS in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ, distributed task queues, and event-driven backend architectures.
• Hands-on experience with automated AI red teaming, prompt defense tools, and securing MCP server interactions.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, Databricks, or Glean.
