Staff Cloud Security Engineer (AWS/GCP)

Location: Hybrid work with occasional in-person attendance required. Primary residence must be in or near an approved city in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.

Salary: $147,000–$255,000 USD in the United States, $179,000–$255,000 USD in California, or $189,000–$225,000 CAD in Canada, depending on geographic market.

What you will do

• Shape cloud security architecture and guardrails across AWS and GCP, including network security, infrastructure standards, identity, secrets, encryption, and data protection.
• Secure Kubernetes and other cloud workloads through workload identity, runtime protection, secure base images, isolation, and container security.
• Partner with Infrastructure teams to secure deployment paths, registries, workload identities, and CI/CD infrastructure.
• Build reusable Terraform modules and policy-as-code guardrails that make secure configurations the default.
• Improve cloud telemetry, detection coverage, threat hunting, attack-path analysis, and incident containment and recovery architecture.
• Lead the Cloud Security roadmap, influence engineering teams, evaluate tooling, and provide technical guidance and mentorship.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in cloud or infrastructure security engineering, or an equivalent combination of software and security engineering experience.
• Deep expertise in at least one of AWS or GCP, with sufficient fluency in the other to assess security risks in production cloud environments.
• Strong identity and access management experience, including least privilege, cross-account access, short-lived credentials, workload identity, and service-to-service authorization.
• Experience securing Kubernetes, containers, cloud workloads, runtime environments, and workload isolation.
• Experience with CSPM/CNAPP, cloud security tooling, attack-path analysis, SIEM integration, and cloud-native incident response.
• Strong Terraform or equivalent infrastructure-as-code skills and proficiency in Python or Go.
