Engineer II, Systems Engineering (PLC/OT)

What you will do

• Design, specify, program, install, commission, and support instrumentation and control systems for production, utility, manufacturing, and pilot plant operations.
• Configure and maintain Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, data historians, and GE iFIX and iHistorian systems.
• Manage OT network infrastructure, including Ethernet/IP, VLANs, managed switches, and communication between PLC, HMI, SCADA, and historian systems.
• Perform OT security management with Tenable OT, including asset inventory, vulnerability scanning, and policy compliance.
• Identify automation opportunities, define control strategies, and improve quality, safety, productivity, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Coordinate with operations, process engineering, production engineering, maintenance, quality, and IT teams while leading control-system improvement projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, electrical, information, or mechanical engineering.
• At least 5 years of practical experience in instrumentation, process control system design, and PLC/HMI programming.
• Experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley and GE products, including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, iFIX, and iHistorian.
• Proficient English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of chemical plant safety, environmental regulations, troubleshooting, project management, commissioning, and functional control descriptions.
• Ability to travel locally for several days at a time and manage multiple projects.

Nice to have

• Experience with GE Proficy software, LS Electric, Omron, Visual Basic, SQL, PowerFlex VFDs, and DeviceNet/Ethernet network design.
• Experience in batch and continuous chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Semiconductor industry quality experience and Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt project leadership or certification.
