Principal Field Service Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Gyeonggi-Do, South Korea; frequent travel within Korea and occasional overseas travel; customer-site and remote technical support included.

What you will do

• Install, commission, qualify, upgrade, and retrofit semiconductor wafer probe stations at customer sites.
• Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, system health checks, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Diagnose hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, vacuum, pneumatic, and motion-control issues.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support, customer training, and assistance with demonstrations, FAT, and SAT activities.
• Coordinate complex technical issue resolution with Global Technical Support, Applications Engineering, R&D, and Manufacturing.
• Maintain service reports, installation records, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of field service experience supporting semiconductor capital equipment, or equivalent experience based on the stated education pathway.
• Strong knowledge of wafer probing systems, semiconductor testing, or precision motion systems.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, vacuum, pneumatic, and motion-control systems.
• Familiarity with Windows-based software, networking, equipment control systems, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
• Business-level English communication skills and strong customer communication abilities.
• Availability for frequent travel within Korea and occasional overseas travel.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor wafer probe stations or semiconductor manufacturers.
• Knowledge of wafer-level electrical measurements, RF testing, Silicon Photonics, MEMS, or Advanced Packaging.
• Experience with robotic systems, motion control, precision alignment, or semiconductor measurement instruments such as Keysight, Keithley, or Tektronix.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead complex customer projects.
• Project management and cross-functional collaboration experience.
