Principal Product Manager (Photonics)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States; flexible hybrid workplace model.

Salary: $226,000–$317,000 USD annually, plus equity and other rewards.

What you will do

• Lead product definition, SKU strategy, market positioning, messaging, and MRD/PRD ownership.
• Define and manage the roadmap for the photonic computing platform based on ML workloads, model architectures, and hardware-software co-design trade-offs.
• Engage AI/ML experts, cloud architects, and compute platform teams to validate product-market fit and shape the technical roadmap.
• Translate workload-level requirements into photonics product requirements with engineering and drive products from early development through production and EOL.
• Develop pricing guidelines, margin analysis, revenue forecasts, and competitive positioning.
• Represent products at industry events and brief press, analysts, investors, customers, and partners.

Requirements

• 15+ years of related industry experience, including 10+ years in product management, product marketing, applications engineering, or business development for complex semiconductor or systems products.
• Strong hands-on understanding of AI/ML systems architecture, model fundamentals, training and inference workloads, XPU and accelerator architectures, and data center-scale system design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience taking products through business case, definition, development, design-in, production, and EOL.
• Experience with data center compute infrastructure, optical networking, provisioning, operations at scale, semiconductor development, and the AI hardware ecosystem.
• Ability to synthesize technical and market data and communicate effectively with engineering and executive stakeholders.
