Manager, Risk Consulting - Capital Markets and Asset Management

Location: New York, United States

Salary: $101,000–$203,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Manage and deliver regulatory compliance assessments and advisory services for broker-dealers and registered investment advisers.
• Evaluate compliance programs, identify control deficiencies, and recommend improvements to governance, monitoring, training, testing, and reporting.
• Lead independent testing, internal audits, risk assessments, engagement planning, workpaper reviews, reporting, and client closing meetings.
• Develop corrective action plans in response to enforcement actions and help clients build sustainable compliance programs.
• Manage multiple clients, projects, budgets, teams, billing expectations, and engagement economics.
• Build client and prospect relationships, contribute to proposals and thought leadership, and support business development activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of relevant professional experience, including experience at a Big Four or comparable national public accounting or consulting firm.
• Demonstrated broker-dealer and/or registered investment adviser regulatory compliance experience, including knowledge of SEC and FINRA rules and examination priorities.
• Hands-on experience designing, assessing, or advising on enterprise risk management frameworks, risk assessments, and internal control environments.
• Ability to lead internal audit, compliance testing, and advisory engagements, including scoping, work program design, testing, and reporting.
• Strong leadership, client relationship management, analytical, communication, and adaptability skills.

Nice to have

• CPA, CIA, CRCM, CAMS, FRM, or Series 7, 24, or 99 licenses.
• Knowledge of broker-dealer and investment adviser operations, including trade lifecycle, custody, billing, AUM, net capital, books and records, and AML/KYC.
• Exposure to FOCUS reporting, Form ADV, Reg BI, and related regulatory filings.
• Experience managing concurrent client engagements, budgets, and staff.
