Data Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote in the United States, supporting EST hours

Salary: $115,000–$125,000 per year, plus potential discretionary bonus

What you will do

• Design and execute migration strategies for enterprise data, analytics, and AI platforms on AWS.
• Build and migrate governed AI Gateway capabilities, including the transition from Portkey to Apigee.
• Develop integrations with Claude, OpenAI Custom GPTs, AWS Bedrock, and other AI services.
• Build AI evaluation, testing, monitoring, observability, and reporting frameworks.
• Lead BI modernization initiatives, including Alteryx retirement and Tableau Cloud migration.
• Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, data products, governance capabilities, and secure cloud-native deployments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, cloud engineering, or analytics engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Bedrock, API Gateway, and IAM.
• Strong experience with Python, SQL, REST APIs, microservices, Tableau, and Alteryx.
• Experience with cloud migration, platform modernization, enterprise-scale data architecture, ETL/ELT, AI testing, evaluation, and monitoring.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, privacy, compliance, and financial services regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise AI Gateway platforms and migrations involving Portkey, Kong, MuleSoft, Apigee, or similar technologies.
• Experience with LLM applications, RAG systems, AI copilots, agentic AI, vector databases, prompt engineering, and AI observability platforms.
• Experience with Alteryx-to-cloud modernization, Tableau Cloud migrations, or BI transformation programs.
• Financial services experience in banking, capital markets, asset management, wealth management, or insurance.
• AWS Data Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Machine Learning certifications.
