Staff Software Engineer - SOC Platform (Ruby/Rails)

Location: Remote US

Salary: $200,000–$220,000 base annually, plus bonus and equity

What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for investigation and triage workflows, remediation actions, work queues, and customer-facing reporting.
• Design and build analyst-facing interfaces end to end, from data models to interactive browser experiences.
• Lead architecture, software design, code quality, testing, observability, reliability, and lifecycle risk management.
• Conduct security-by-design reviews and establish standards for usability, performance, accessibility, and reusable front-end patterns.
• Partner with Product, UX, and SOC stakeholders to turn operational pain points into reliable, auditable systems.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, test-plan reviews, pairing, and work on increasingly complex problems.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience developing complex software products.
• 5+ years of programming with Ruby on Rails.
• Strong JavaScript, HTML, and CSS fundamentals with experience building complex interactive UIs using component-based frameworks.
• Experience with AWS or other public cloud environments, Linux infrastructure, and relational databases such as Postgres.
• Experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code.
• Must be based in the United States for this remote role.

Nice to have

• Experience with ClickHouse.
• Experience building cybersecurity products or operating SOC platforms.
• Experience with Hotwire, Stimulus, and Turbo.
