Senior Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: United States; remote or hybrid options are available, with an East Coast preference. Hybrid work is centered around offices in New York, NY and the Charlotte area. Must be able to work Eastern Standard Time hours.

Total cash compensation: $100,000–$195,000 per year. New York City range: $125,000–$243,000 per year, including target bonus.

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable systems for digital financial experiences.
• Shape technical architecture, engineering patterns, standards, and team practices.
• Build and optimize continuous delivery pipelines to improve deployment speed and reliability.
• Translate product and business objectives into technical work and deliver medium-to-large initiatives independently.
• Resolve cross-team technical challenges, dependencies, and integration issues.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, design discussions, and collaborative problem-solving.

Requirements

• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and deep expertise in at least one technology domain.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-based services.
• Deep fluency in TypeScript across API services and full-stack web applications, including strong typing across API boundaries.
• Working knowledge of AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD automation.
• Experience with observability, APM tooling, performance monitoring, CDN or edge delivery, and operational reliability.
• Ability to work independently, communicate complex technical concepts clearly, and balance cost, scalability, security, and maintainability.

Nice to have

• Experience evaluating and adopting AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, or Copilot.
