Software Engineer III (npm)

Location: Remote, United States

Base salary: USD $107,700–$285,900 per year

What you will do

• Write, review, and maintain production code and technical documentation.
• Develop and improve open-source tools supporting the JavaScript ecosystem and npm package distribution.
• Collaborate with community contributors and stakeholders across engineering, design, security, support, product, and leadership.
• Define and deliver features that align business objectives with user needs.
• Triage and remediate bugs and security vulnerabilities in high-impact open-source projects.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering, computer science, or related technical experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Production software development experience with languages such as C, C++, C#, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
• At least 2 years of experience with cloud services.
• At least 2 years of experience developing and debugging large-scale projects, applications, or developer tools.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States.

Nice to have

• 2+ years of experience with Node.js.
• 3+ years of experience with cloud services, including AWS development.
• Experience building applications that meet high security standards.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding and productivity tools.
