Lien Resolution Leader (LegalTech)

Salary: $129,000–$152,500 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Build and run the lien negotiation function for medical liens, subrogation claims, settlement funding loans, and general liens.
• Negotiate high-value, contested, and escalated matters while partnering with attorneys on settlement evaluation, demands, and mediation strategy.
• Hire, train, manage, and mentor lien negotiators and support staff.
• Develop workflows, scripts, templates, escalation protocols, performance goals, and reporting metrics.
• Oversee lien identification, verification, documentation, settlement statements, lien holds, and timely disbursements.
• Manage relationships with providers, health plans, recovery vendors, government agencies, and outside lien-resolution partners.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in lien resolution, subrogation, or settlement negotiation, preferably in a personal injury or plaintiff-side environment.
• 3+ years of experience managing or leading a team.
• Demonstrated success securing significant reductions across multiple lien types.
• Working knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid recovery, ERISA plans, state lien laws, and made-whole/common-fund doctrines.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, communication, risk, and compliance judgment.
• Proficiency with case management software and Excel or comparable reporting tools.

Nice to have

• JD, paralegal certification, or equivalent legal training.
• Experience in a high-volume personal injury firm or lien resolution company.
• Familiarity with medical billing, CPT/ICD coding, PIP statutes, and reasonable-value analysis.
• Experience building or scaling a lien department.
