Senior Tax Accountant (SaaS)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid work with at least 3 days per week from the assigned office

Salary: $80,500–$100,500 USD annually

What you will do

• Manage end-to-end sales and use tax compliance and filings across applicable US jurisdictions.
• Research nexus, product and service taxability, exemption certificates, and other indirect tax issues.
• Partner with Revenue Operations and Billing to maintain accurate tax calculation and collection in billing and CPQ systems.
• Support indirect tax audits, prepare documentation, respond to notices, and coordinate with external advisors.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and advise Finance, Legal, Product, and go-to-market teams on tax implications.
• Improve and automate processes across the indirect tax compliance cycle.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in indirect tax, focused on US sales and use tax compliance.
• Experience with tax technology such as Avalara, Vertex, or similar automated tax calculation tools.
• Strong analytical skills, including researching complex tax issues and interpreting statutes and regulations.
• Experience with ERP and billing systems such as Salesforce, NetSuite, or Zuora.
• Ability to manage recurring compliance deadlines and shifting priorities.
• Availability to work from the assigned office at least 3 days per week in Chicago, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with software or SaaS sales tax implications.
• Big Four or public company experience.
