Avionics Lead (PCBA)

What you will do

• Lead daily floor-level visibility and technical support for PCBA assembly, modification, repair, and rework activities.
• Identify and resolve technical blockers, material shortages, equipment issues, missing instructions, engineering questions, and schedule risks.
• Support component removal and replacement, jumper installation, trace repair, staking, conformal coating, soldering, and board repair.
• Review complex or high-risk rework, verify correct revisions and processes, and coordinate inspection points and final acceptance with Quality.
• Support troubleshooting, first-article and first-build activities, recurring-defect reduction, and rework-instruction development with Manufacturing Engineering.
• Train and mentor technicians while maintaining organized, safe, and ESD-compliant work areas.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in PCBA assembly and rework.
• Experience with component removal and replacement, jumper wires, trace repair, staking, conformal coating, or similar board-level work.
• Strong understanding of soldering workmanship, inspection requirements, and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and IPC-7711/7721.
• Ability to read drawings, assembly instructions, schematics, and rework documentation.
• Access to export-controlled information and, where applicable, classified U.S. Government information may require government authorization, security clearance, or citizenship and other eligibility requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience working on high-reliability or flight hardware.
• Experience training and mentoring technicians.
