Avionics Test Engineer II (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States. Employment requires U.S. work authorization and U.S.-person status for access to export-controlled technology.

Salary: $119,543–$152,749 per year, plus potential long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate test systems for spacecraft avionics components and assemblies.
• Develop Python software for test execution, data analysis, pass/fail assessment, and reporting.
• Develop test cases and strategies with component responsible engineers for qualification, acceptance, and proto-flight testing.
• Collaborate with avionics test systems, manufacturing, avionics systems, and flight software engineers.
• Develop and operate Hardware in the Loop testbeds to simulate spacecraft systems on the ground.
• Improve test automation, software standardization, reporting, and engineering efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in system validation, component testing, or test software development.
• Proficiency in Python programming and debugging.
• Experience with power supplies, DAQ systems, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
• Familiarity with thermocouples, RTDs, and 4–20mA sensors, plus Git source control.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person under applicable export-control requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience establishing HITL testbeds, configuration control, and system-level testing.
• Familiarity with Unix environments and environmental test equipment such as vibration shakers and TVAC or thermal chambers.
• Experience developing test equipment for vehicle operating conditions.
• Project or program management experience.
