TL;DR

Location: Plymouth, Minnesota; hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite

Base salary: $76,000–$104,500 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

  • Design, implement, maintain, and enhance embedded software for the PrisMax continuous renal replacement therapy platform.
  • Support the full software lifecycle from requirements and architecture through implementation, integration, verification, release, and sustaining engineering.
  • Develop unit tests and contribute to automated testing, software verification, and validation activities.
  • Investigate defects, perform structured root cause analysis, and resolve hardware/software integration issues.
  • Collaborate with systems, electrical, quality, cybersecurity, and verification engineers on requirements traceability, risk management, and software mitigations.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, Agile planning, sprint execution, and regulated engineering documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 0–2+ years of engineering experience, including internships, co-ops, or academic projects.
  • Proficiency in C++ and/or C.
  • Understanding of real-time systems, microcontrollers and processors, hardware/software interfaces, debugging, and communication protocols.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary engineering team and support regulated medical-device development.

Nice to have

  • Experience with RTOS-based development, embedded Linux, ARM processors, and embedded development tools.
  • Exposure to SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, USB, or Ethernet communication protocols.
  • Experience with Git, scripting or Python for test automation, automated testing frameworks, and CI/CD concepts.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity for connected medical devices.
  • Exposure to regulated industries such as medical devices, aerospace, automotive, or industrial controls.
