Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: On-site in Acton, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $128,000–$191,975 annual base salary for U.S.-based positions, plus potential incentive compensation.

hirify.global is a medical device company developing the Omnipod platform and connected insulin delivery products for people with diabetes and other therapeutic applications.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and document embedded software for new and existing medical products.
• Develop software for connected, resource-constrained embedded systems.
• Create and maintain software design documentation and testing requirements.
• Integrate, debug, and test systems with software, QA, hardware, systems, quality, and regulatory engineers.
• Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, and Manufacturing teams to meet technical, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements.
• Participate in product design reviews and provide technical direction across development efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with 7+ years of industry experience, or a master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong hands-on programming experience in C and/or C++.
• Experience developing embedded software for resource-constrained systems and working with ARM, TI, MSP, or similar microprocessors and microcontrollers.
• Strong understanding of embedded software architecture, debugging, integration, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to serve as a technical lead, mentor engineers, and drive software development across internal and external teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with I2C, SPI, USB, Flash, EEPROM, Bluetooth Low Energy, or other wireless technologies.
• Knowledge of multithreading, synchronization, deadlock prevention, interrupt handling, real-time systems, and RTOS environments.
• Experience with object-oriented software design, electrical schematics, hardware bring-up, and system-level debugging.
• Experience in Agile development, medical devices, or other regulated industries.
