Materials Development Scientist PhD (Materials Science)

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio; hybrid onsite work at Winton Hill Business Center 3–5 days per week

What you will do

• Develop material innovations for feminine care products by translating consumer needs into differentiated product solutions.
• Design, execute, and interpret experiments involving adhesives, nonwovens, films, and other material technologies.
• Diagnose and resolve raw-material technical issues with manufacturing plants.
• Collaborate with suppliers and external technical partners to develop, qualify, and sustain raw-material supply chains.
• Lead or support raw-material qualifications, cost optimization, and business continuity planning while meeting quality, safety, and compliance requirements.
• Apply data-driven, digital, modeling, simulation, and automation approaches to improve decision-making and accelerate materials innovation.

Requirements

• PhD in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related field.
• Strong materials science fundamentals and the ability to connect product requirements, material feedstocks, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with data science, data analytics, and statistics.
• Strong analytical, experimental, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work onsite at Winton Hill Business Center 3–5 days per week and travel approximately 10% of the time.

Nice to have

• Publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
• Coding and modeling or simulation experience with tools such as GeoDict or Abaqus.
• Experience developing and implementing AI solutions.
