R&D Product/Process Scientist II (Consumer Products)

Location: Pleasanton, California, USA; hybrid schedule with three days per week in the Pleasanton office

Salary: $75,800–$170,100 annually, depending on U.S. labor-cost zone, skills, experience, and location

What you will do

• Lead product and process development for Project Horizon and next-generation litter materials.
• Evaluate raw materials, processing methods, product performance, manufacturability, cost, scalability, and business-case implications.
• Design and execute technical testing to validate product and process designs and performance.
• Translate consumer, brand, and business needs into technical criteria for litter particle and substrate development.
• Partner with Marketing, Human Insights, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, suppliers, and other external partners.
• Build technical knowledge, documentation, reusable development methods, and intellectual property supporting future innovation.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a product or process developer in consumer packaged goods or an applicable field.
• Experience taking products or processes from early-stage concepts through technical validation, scale-up, or commercialization.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent applicable experience.
• Strong experimental design, data analysis, technical problem-solving, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, structure learning plans for ambiguous technical challenges, and deliver projects on time.
• Ability to work from the Pleasanton office three days per week is required.
