Program Manager, Expert (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Oakland or San Ramon, California, with 2–3 days per week at the Oakland Headquarters or San Ramon Valley Conference Center; assigned work location must be within the PG&E Service Territory.

Salary: $129,000–$168,000 expected range; Bay Area range up to $207,000. Eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Lead enterprise intake and orchestration for AI initiatives, aligning investments with corporate strategy, value realization, and responsible AI principles.
• Manage a portfolio of complex data, analytics, and AI programs with governance, delivery oversight, and executive reporting.
• Collaborate with business, technology, and data management teams to improve decision-making, operational efficiency, and innovation.
• Manage program budgets, resources, milestones, risks, documentation, and mitigation plans.
• Lead cross-functional teams and maintain stakeholder alignment through clear communication and status reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement, internal audit compliance, and best practices in IT program delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in technology programs and project management.
• Experience leading large-scale complex programs through successful completion.
• Strong understanding of artificial intelligence and data analytics trends.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and resources and collaborate effectively in ambiguous situations.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of experience managing AI projects.
• 5+ years of experience in demand management.
• Experience with a PPM tool such as Planisware.
• PMP certification from PMI.
• SAFe Agilist or SAFe Lean Portfolio Management certification.
