Application Engineer II (HVAC)

Location: Louisville, Kentucky, United States; onsite Monday through Thursday and flexible work location on Fridays

Salary: $65,200–$118,860 annual base salary; incentive eligible

What you will do

• Optimize and validate HVAC equipment selections, including size, configuration, voltage, and options, by reviewing plans, specifications, estimates, and proposals.
• Validate project scope, quantities, configurations, cost savings opportunities, and potential cost problems.
• Support sales and prepare preliminary and final equipment submittals, job cost meetings, and submittal releases.
• Negotiate material pricing with vendors and maintain awareness of industry trends.
• Prepare equipment for order entry, verify pricing, revise coordination worksheets, and reconcile job costs.
• Provide technical support for equipment installation, startup, warranty service, new equipment, and controls.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, construction, engineering technology, or a related field, plus at least two years of HVAC project management or estimating experience.
• Alternatively, at least five years of HVAC project management or estimating experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems and temperature controls is preferred.
• Flexibility to work outside normal hours when required.
• Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations or preventable collisions in the previous three years.
