Senior Software Engineer (SaaS)

Location: Remote within the United States, with occasional in-person office meetings for candidates in Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; San Francisco, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Denver, CO; or Salt Lake City, UT. Visa sponsorship or extensions are not available.

Base salary: $100,000–$144,000 annually, plus potential discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, design, development, and deployment of a scalable, secure SaaS product.
• Build and maintain cloud-based enterprise software using Laravel, Vue.js, and Tailwind CSS.
• Develop stable RESTful APIs and single-page applications that integrate with external services.
• Improve product performance, security, scalability, sustainability, and energy efficiency.
• Debug complex full-stack issues, participate in code reviews, and contribute to the full software development lifecycle.
• Mentor software engineers and collaborate with designers, project managers, and program teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on experience building software with PHP frameworks, including advanced PHP 8.x and Laravel expertise.
• 6+ years of experience with Vue or similar JavaScript frameworks, plus TypeScript, Composition API, state management, and modular component design.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, Vite, npm, Git-based workflows, AWS cloud infrastructure, serverless environments, and Laravel deployment patterns.
• Experience with cloud monitoring and alerting tools such as New Relic and CloudWatch.
• Experience writing testable functional code with Pest or PHPUnit and working in agile/Scrum teams.
• Must currently reside in the United States and be able to attend occasional in-person office meetings in one of the listed metro areas.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.
• Experience developing commercial SaaS products.
• Experience with data analytics, reporting, business intelligence platforms, or Node.js.
