Head of Legal Operations

Location: New York City, United States; hybrid work

Salary: $150,000–$212,000 per year base pay for candidates based in the United States. OTE is $176,000–$250,000 per year, including bonus or commission.

What you will do

• Own the Legal Operations strategy, multi-year roadmap, OKRs, prioritization, and executive reporting.
• Lead legal technology architecture across Salesforce, Jira, Jira Service Management, Ironclad, OneTrust, e-signature, content management, procurement, and related platforms.
• Build integrations, automate legal workflows, and improve contract data, reporting, dashboards, and operational metrics.
• Define and execute the legal AI roadmap, including contract review, drafting support, data extraction, knowledge management, intake deflection, governance, and adoption.
• Design legal intake, service delivery, compliance operations, and cross-functional processes with IT, Business Systems, Finance, Procurement, and business teams.
• Recruit, manage, and develop a Legal Operations Analyst while owning legal technology vendors, budgets, renewals, negotiations, and performance.

Requirements

• Substantial legal operations leadership experience at a scaling technology company.
• Experience hiring, managing, and developing team members and building an effective operating model.
• Hands-on expertise with legal and go-to-market systems, ideally Salesforce, Jira, Ironclad, and OneTrust, including workflow design, automation, and integration architecture.
• Experience with vendor selection, commercial negotiations, budgets, renewals, system migrations, and implementations.
• Strong analytical, dashboarding, reporting, communication, stakeholder management, data integrity, and confidentiality skills.
• Working understanding of commercial contracting; a law degree is not required.

Nice to have

• Experience in SaaS and familiarity with SaaS commercial contracts.
• Knowledge of data protection and privacy concepts.
• Production experience deploying AI in a legal function, including governance and adoption.
• Experience with legal service desks, multi-jurisdictional or multilingual legal workflows, and growing a legal operations team.
