Product Engineer (Electric Power)

Location: Pullman, Washington, United States; onsite position with up to 25% travel

Salary: $88,400–$132,700 annually

What you will do

• Develop in-depth knowledge of assigned product lines, applications, competitors, and markets.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for sales, marketing, operations, and in-service product support.
• Define product requirements and collaborate with product managers and development engineers to prioritize features and activities.
• Create product documentation including data sheets, instruction manuals, release notes, and service bulletins.
• Perform product validation testing, approve results, and develop concepts or drawings for new products.
• Participate in technical meetings and conferences and present product information to industry audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• At least 2 years of working knowledge of electric power or industrial system integration and automation practices.
• At least 2 years of technical marketing experience.
• Strong technical presentation, writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Knowledge of product lifecycle planning and market positioning.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%; satisfactory background check and negative drug test required.

Nice to have

• Project management or project technical leadership experience.
• Experience with electric utility relays and telecommunications.
• Experience with software development, programming, or database technologies.
• Experience specifying graphical user interfaces.
