Senior Engineer - Application (Substation)

Location: Remote, with the role based in Houston, Atlanta, Dallas, or Nashville, United States; ability to travel 25%–50% is required.

Salary: $103,331–$175,662 annually

What you will do

• Develop technical sales proposals for high-voltage substation products, systems, services, and projects.
• Provide engineering expertise for product selection, compatibility confirmation, specification review, and proof-of-concept solutions.
• Support customers and manufacturers from the RFQ process through system design, installation, start-up, commissioning, and maintenance.
• Prepare accurate technical specifications, bills of materials, cost allocations, work scopes, and engineering, installation, and testing estimates.
• Create subcontractor and power equipment bid packages and support account representatives in identifying sales opportunities.
• Maintain vendor relationships, monitor market and technology developments, and demonstrate solutions to customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in networking and infrastructure sales; 7 years is preferred.
• At least 5 years of technical experience with networking and infrastructure products; 7 years is preferred.
• Expertise in infrastructure, industrial cabling, or power systems products, including high-voltage substation products typically rated at 46 kV and above.
• Experience leading or directing teams, facilitating multidisciplinary workshops, coaching, training, and managing change.
• Ability to obtain and maintain vendor certifications and travel 25%–50%.
