Registered Nurse, RN - Medical Intensive Care Unit

Location: MelroseWakefield Hospital, Melrose, Massachusetts, United States; onsite ICU role. Schedule: 36 hours per week, evenings/nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Salary: $37.50–$75.32 per hour, based on full-time equivalent.

What you will do

• Provide professional nursing care to critically ill patients in a 12-bed medical intensive care unit.
• Assess, document, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
• Manage patients requiring mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic monitoring, and other advanced life support techniques.
• Coordinate care with patients, families, physicians, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families, support informed decisions, and develop discharge plans with appropriate referrals.
• Support unit performance improvement, evidence-based practice, staff development, precepting, and departmental committees.

Requirements

• Massachusetts RN licensure required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• At least one year of RN experience and a strong critical care background required.
• Additional certifications relevant to the department and patient population may be required.
• Ability to apply the nursing process and communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team.
• Ability to lift and turn patients, stand and walk for extended periods, and work around infectious diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and potentially carcinogenic chemicals.
