Registered Nurse-Emergency Room Full Time Evenings

Location: Palos Heights, Illinois, United States; onsite emergency-room role

Salary: USD 34.50–55.20 per hour

What you will do

• Provide individualized, age-specific nursing care from admission through discharge in the emergency room.
• Assess and document patient status, identify urgent care needs, and establish nursing diagnoses and care plans.
• Prioritize evidence-based interventions and monitor patient responses and progress toward measurable outcomes.
• Educate patients and families, coordinate discharge planning, and address ongoing care needs.
• Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including participation in multidisciplinary conferences.
• Make appropriate referrals and maintain continuity of care through accurate, complete documentation.

Requirements

• BSN from an accredited nursing program; ADN candidates must commit to obtaining a BSN within three years of starting the clinical nurse role.
• Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license required.
• American Heart Association BLS required.
• For emergency-room roles, ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and TNCC must be obtained within one year of hire.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Prior experience in emergency care, critical care, stepdown, or another relevant clinical area is preferred.

Nice to have

• Trauma Nurse Specialist, Emergency Communications Registered Nurse, Certified Pediatric Nurse, or Certified Emergency Nurse credentials.
