Strategic Finance Business Partner (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in San Francisco, California, with office attendance required on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Salary: $120,000–$135,000 per year base salary for roles based in San Francisco, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Partner with the AI organization and broader business as a trusted financial advisor, assessing cost drivers, product roadmap implications, risks, and opportunities.
• Own weekly and monthly AI cost reporting, including spend, usage, trends, and anomalies for executives and functional leaders.
• Deliver financial analyses that support strategic decisions and investment evaluation.
• Support monthly close and reporting with Accounting, including vendor and purchase order tracking, budget-versus-actuals analysis, and flux reviews.
• Partner with Product, Data Science, Engineering, and other teams on forecasts and budgets.
• Improve AI cost data and reporting infrastructure by closing data gaps, enhancing recurring workflows, and applying AI and automation.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in FP&A, Strategic Finance, and/or Corporate Finance.
• Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, financial close, and reporting.
• Ability to work with complex datasets, identify anomalies and data gaps, and develop clear conclusions from detailed analysis.
• Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work with senior leadership.
• Ability to build effective cross-functional relationships and communicate financial insights clearly.
• Curiosity about AI tools and willingness to use them to improve work quality and efficiency.

Nice to have

• Experience in a high-growth technology company, including AI-native, SaaS, or consumption-based businesses.
• Experience with NetSuite, Workday, Zip, Pigment, Adaptive, or Anaplan.
• Working knowledge of SQL.
