Health and Safety Specialist

What you will do

• Implement and enforce site environmental, health, and safety programs in line with regulatory requirements and corporate standards.
• Maintain systems aligned with OSHA General Industry regulations and ISO 14001 standards.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen environmental, health, and safety performance across the facility.
• Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action implementation.
• Provide daily in-plant safety guidance to operations, maintenance, contractors, and technical teams.
• Coordinate field audits, safety observations, training programs, compliance records, metrics, and emergency response planning.

Requirements

• Associate degree or higher and at least five years of environmental, health, and safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience implementing and maintaining site-wide environmental, health, and safety programs and management systems.
• Experience with incident investigation, root cause analysis, employee training, and safety initiatives.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, organization, and project-management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.

Nice to have

• Experience with Process Safety Management programs in manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methods such as Six Sigma.
• Experience with safety management systems, incident tracking tools, and structured root cause analysis methods.
• Bilingual Spanish language skills.
