Equipment Maintenance Technician (C-Shift Days) (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Malta, New York, United States; onsite work at the Fab 8 semiconductor manufacturing facility. The role follows a 12-hour alternating-week day-shift schedule, with flexibility to work other shifts as needed.

Expected salary: $43,100–$70,600 per year.

What you will do

• Monitor, sustain, and improve semiconductor manufacturing equipment and assigned processes.
• Perform scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on assigned tool sets.
• Use mechanical, electronic, computer, and software skills to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Monitor, control, and test equipment for manufacturing readiness and recover tools after process interruptions.
• Document events, provide shift handoffs, and communicate equipment status to lead technicians and engineers.
• Support safety, environmental, health, and security requirements in the fab.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One of the following: a two-year technical degree, two years of relevant military experience, or four years of relevant electrical or mechanical experience.
• English fluency in written and verbal communication is required.
• Basic reading, writing, computer navigation, Windows, Microsoft Office, and Outlook skills.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom wearing required cleanroom clothing and PPE.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, handle tools, use computers, and perform physical work for most of a 12-hour shift; ability to periodically lift or carry at least 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or equivalent education and experience in engineering technology, military service, or a trade.
• Four or more years of direct semiconductor manufacturing experience.
• Experience reading schematics, blueprints, and electrical diagrams.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, statistical process control, and structured troubleshooting.
• Project management, planning, organizational, and communication skills.
