Azure Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and operate production Azure Kubernetes Service clusters, including private clusters, managed identities, RBAC, node pools, autoscaling, and upgrades.
• Configure AKS networking, ingress, DNS, firewalls, private endpoints, Azure CNI, and integrations with Azure services and client-facing dependencies.
• Manage containerized deployments with Docker and Helm, infrastructure provisioning with Terraform, and Azure DevOps or GitOps-based CI/CD workflows.
• Build observability using Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights; define SLIs/SLOs and improve alert quality.
• Lead vulnerability management, performance troubleshooting, disaster recovery exercises, incident response, root-cause analysis, and preventative follow-up actions.
• Document runbooks, post-incident reviews, and operational knowledge while collaborating with application, security, platform, and performance engineering teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience and strong knowledge of scheduling, networking, storage, and RBAC.
• Proficiency with Azure CNI networking, AKS private cluster configuration, and Azure PaaS services including ACR, Key Vault, Azure SQL, Kafka, and managed identities.
• Experience with Helm, Terraform, Azure DevOps or comparable CI/CD tooling, and container or cluster vulnerability remediation workflows.
• Scripting experience with Bash and Python.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Work location: remote within Ontario, Canada.
