Software Engineer, Platform Access (L2)

Location: Remote in the United States; not eligible for hiring in California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or Washington. Occasional travel may be required for team, project, or customer meetings.

Estimated annual pay: $116,960–$146,200 in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont, and Washington, D.C.; $123,760–$154,700 in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, and California outside the San Francisco Bay Area; $137,520–$171,900 in the San Francisco Bay Area, California.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate automation and access tools for secure developer workflows across multi-cloud environments.
• Maintain identity federation, least-privilege IAM policies, role provisioning, and automated access lifecycle workflows across AWS, Azure, and GCP accounts.
• Develop Terraform-based infrastructure automation and contribute to policy-as-code frameworks, testing standards, and code reviews.
• Maintain observability coverage, including metrics, alerts, and basic distributed tracing across core data pipelines.
• Identify access drift, technical debt, security vulnerabilities, and platform issues while collaborating with security and technical leadership.
• Participate in sprint planning, seek mentorship, and share knowledge while developing toward a more senior engineering role.

Requirements

• 1–2+ years of professional software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering experience.
• Practical exposure to multi-cloud environments, IAM, or platform automation.
• Experience with or willingness to learn AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.
• Experience with or familiarity with Terraform, Harness, or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Basic experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including account management, IAM permissions, or core cloud services.
• Working knowledge of at least one of Shell, Terraform, YAML, or Go, plus an understanding of authentication, authorization, least privilege, and secrets management.

Nice to have

• Experience with identity federation, SAML, OIDC, or Okta integrations.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or Kubernetes cluster access management.
• Interest in automated cloud governance, account vending, or identity lifecycle management at scale.
• Coursework or personal projects involving distributed systems, cloud security, or API development.
