Infrastructure Automation Engineer (Terraform)

Location: 100% remote within the Continental United States

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 base salary annually, plus benefits.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain modular Terraform code across cloud accounts, environments, and providers.
• Build reusable, documented Terraform modules with clear interfaces, semantic versioning, and automated testing.
• Implement infrastructure automation pipelines with plan/apply gates, drift detection, and policy enforcement.
• Manage Terraform state, backends, workspaces, disaster recovery, and multi-account or multi-region provisioning strategies.
• Embed secrets management, identity federation, least-privilege IAM, security guardrails, cost optimization, and tagging standards into infrastructure patterns.
• Lead migrations from legacy or manually managed infrastructure, mentor engineering teams, and maintain runbooks and architecture documentation.

Requirements

• Must be located in the Continental United States.
• Direct full-time W2 employment is required; C2C, 1099, and third-party arrangements are not accepted.
• No new H1B sponsorship is available; valid H1B candidates requiring a transfer may be considered.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Five or more years of cloud infrastructure or DevOps engineering experience with significant Terraform focus.
• Hands-on expertise with production Terraform, reusable modules, state management, CI/CD, cloud networking, identity, security, Git workflows, and Python, Go, or Bash.

Nice to have

• Multi-cloud Terraform experience with AWS and Azure or GCP.
• Familiarity with Terragrunt, Atlantis, Spacelift, or env0.
• Experience with Sentinel, OPA, Checkov, public Terraform modules or providers, and FinOps practices.
