Shift Supervisor - Electric Distribution Center

Location: Merrillville, Indiana, United States; onsite shift work with rotating day and night shifts, four days on and four days off.

Salary: $96,600–$144,900 per year

What you will do

• Lead dispatcher-operators and front-line electric operations employees, providing direction, coaching, training, and performance feedback.
• Coordinate dispatching, system switching, outage evaluation, electric system restoration, and field damage assessment.
• Monitor transmission and distribution system conditions, substations, equipment, and network management systems for safety and reliability issues.
• Respond to emergencies within established incident command and storm recovery procedures, including extended hours when required.
• Coordinate with planning, engineering, construction, technical services, field operations, leadership, and customer groups.
• Manage work plans, operating and maintenance resources, capital budgets, safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least four years of experience in the electric utility industry, a related utility, or skilled trades.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching, organizational, planning, and emergency decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of transmission and distribution lines, substations, switching orders, single-line diagrams, engineering drawings, and electrical concepts.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and availability for more than 40 hours per week, rotating day and night shifts, and emergency response.

Nice to have

• Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Project Management Professional, Certified Safety Professional, or Professional Engineer certification.
