Design Engineering Specialist (Power Electronics)

Location: Mossville, Illinois, United States; 5 days on-site. Domestic travel up to 10% and minimal international travel are required. Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $128,470–$192,710 per year

What you will do

• Lead the development and integration of high-power electronics cabinets for heavy-duty mining applications.
• Coordinate electrical, mechanical, thermal, controls, software, manufacturing, sourcing, validation, and supplier activities.
• Translate product requirements into system architectures, design requirements, interface definitions, and integration plans.
• Lead design reviews, risk management, technical decision-making, issue resolution, and milestone execution.
• Coordinate prototype builds, laboratory testing, vehicle and field validation, and machine-level evaluations.
• Support suppliers and contract manufacturers with production feasibility, quality, cost, reliability, scalability, and launch readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience leading complex engineering projects involving multiple technical disciplines.
• Experience developing or integrating complex electromechanical systems.
• Knowledge of design validation, risk management, product development, project management, and computer-aided design and engineering.
• Experience troubleshooting difficult technical problems in manufacturing or product development environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with power electronics, electric drive systems, inverters, converters, energy storage systems, or electrified vehicles.
• Experience with high-voltage systems and electrical integration.
• Familiarity with thermal management, cooling systems, and power electronics packaging.
• Knowledge of DFMEA, APQP, design reviews, and NPI processes.
• Experience working with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
