What you will do

• Research and develop power system protection technologies for wildfire mitigation.
• Develop expertise in High Impedance Fault detection and analysis.
• Maintain knowledge of electric power system protection, monitoring, and control.
• Support customer applications and Field Application Engineers with power engineering expertise.
• Develop product specifications, application literature, manuals, and data sheets.
• Write and review technical solutions for meetings and conferences.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with electric power systems, protection practices, and philosophies.
• Knowledge of apparatus and protective relay applications in an electrical utility or industrial plant.
• Understanding of signal processing and digital systems fundamentals.
• Ability to code in Python and understand existing code.
• Strong analytical, technical writing, documentation, speaking, and training skills.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of SEL products.
• Experience with power system modeling software.
