Product Design Engineer (SolidWorks)

Location: St. Louis, Missouri, United States; domestic travel may be required.

What you will do

• Design pressure containment vessels, membrane-related products, casting molds, and mechanical components using fundamental engineering principles.
• Create 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings in SolidWorks and maintain documentation in SolidWorks PDM.
• Develop test plans, organize the mechanical testing laboratory, perform mechanical tests, and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Document, analyze, and communicate test results while troubleshooting prototypes and product designs.
• Collaborate with product development, quality, procurement, plant engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams.
• Support product implementation, manufacturability, safety standards, and commercialization activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 1 year of experience in product design, equipment design, or mechanical engineering using SolidWorks.
• Experience creating CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
• Experience in a laboratory or testing environment, including test setup, data collection, and result interpretation.
• Understanding of manufacturing, machining, fabrication, or product development processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• SolidWorks certifications.
• Design for Six Sigma experience.
