Sr Mechanical Designer

Salary: $38.00–$66.59 per hour base salary

What you will do

• Prepare machine calculations and create mechanical layouts, sketches, designs, and technical drawings.
• Design fixturing, test equipment, manufacturing systems, and a variety of machines.
• Calculate tolerances and dimensions and perform thermal and structural analysis.
• Review designs against company procedures, regulations, and client standards.
• Submit drawings to management and construction teams, then finalize prints for production.
• Support equipment building and installation and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

• Technical or associate degree in drafting, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience designing in 3D CAD and producing 2D drawings with SolidWorks and/or CREO.
• Strong knowledge of CAD, manufacturing and assembly processes, ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing, and MIL-STD-31000.
• Knowledge of the 3DX Product Lifecycle Management tool.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, mathematical, organizational, planning, and time-management skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
