Java/J2EE Developer (Night Shift, Production Support)

Location: Hybrid role based in Reston, Virginia, United States; the first two weeks are onsite for training, monthly onsite meetings are required, and a mandatory face-to-face onsite interview is required. The regular shift starts at 11:00pm EST, with quarterly shift alternations and rotating weekend shifts.

Contract duration: 12 months or longer, with possible conversion to permanent employment.

Technical staffing engagement supporting a customer’s production support group for enterprise healthcare applications.

What you will do

• Design, prototype, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications with architects and technical leads.
• Provide operational support, maintenance programming, and production trouble-ticket resolution.
• Write unit and integration tests using JUnit and TestNG, and participate in code reviews.
• Document system changes and apply software development best practices.
• Mentor junior resources and promote efficient, clean, readable, and reliable code.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent degree.
• 3–5 years of professional software development experience with enterprise Java technologies, including at least 6 years of Java experience stated in the technical requirements.
• Experience with JEE, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Batch, Spring Integration, Spring Security, Hibernate, MyBatis, RESTful web services, AJAX, JSON, SQL, JUnit, and Maven.
• At least 3 years of APIM experience and production support experience.
• Solid knowledge of healthcare claims processing and experience with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and AJAX.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and software testing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Angular, React, or jQuery.
• Experience with Spring Integration, Big Data, or security technologies such as SSO, OAuth2, and IBM WebSeal.
