Backend Developer (Java/Python)

Location: Hybrid in Arlington, Virginia, United States. U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph are required.

Base pay: $170,000–$210,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, geographic work location, and market conditions.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications and APIs using Java and Python.
• Design RESTful APIs and microservices and integrate third-party services.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and QA teams to define requirements and integrate components.
• Optimize performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply security best practices for data handling and API authentication.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications and APIs, including optional cloud-service integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Proficiency in Java and/or Python and associated frameworks such as Spring Boot, Flask, or Django.
• Experience with API architecture and development tools, databases, Git, and Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms and familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes.
